When MultiVersus was announced, many were skeptical of it. Not only because of the overload of fighting game titles that had come out in the game world recently but because the studio would have to blend a ton of unique characters to make things work. Thankfully for gamers, it did work, and it worked very well–so much so that the beta for the game is not only popular, it’s had millions of players and has made a lot of money through its Founder’s Packs. The title is also continually updated, and these updates include not only new characters to the game but significant gameplay improvements. According to the game’s director, two more are coming, and we should keep our eyes on them.

Just as important, Game Director Tony Huynh noted that these patches will be “really big.” While that may not be the most“suspense-filled message, it is enough to give pause. What would make an update really big? The easy answer is new characters likely coming to MultiVersus through these patches and updates. But, of course, we’ve already had new additions recently via Rick and Morty, so who might be next?
