Transformations are one of the Destined One's most powerful tools in Black Myth: Wukong, so here's how to find every transformation.

Black Myth: Wukong – Spirits Explained

Very early in Black Myth: Wukong, the Destined One will gain the ability to absorb the spirits of defeated enemies. If players defeat the Wandering Wight when it is first encountered, they will likely notice that it drops a floating blue item that 'cannot be absorbed without guidance'. This is a Spirit. Shortly after that encounter, the Destined One will encounter an NPC that gives them the Blessed Gourd. With this item, players can collect the spirits of defeated enemies.

Not all enemies will drop Spirits . Look for enemies with a blue flame-like aura coming from their bodies. When you see the aura, you'll know that the enemy will drop a Spirit. The only exception to this is mini-bosses, which can still drop Spirits without any aura. Make sure to keep your eyes open after each fight.

Using and Upgrading Spirits:

  • Once absorbed, Spirits can be equipped in the main menu, on the top row of the equipment area.
  • Each Spirit has an active effect and a passive effect.
  • To upgrade Spirits in Black Myth: Wukong, go to the Self-Advance section of any Keeper's Shrine. Here, you'll find Cultivate Spirits. Like all other upgrades, this will require specific materials.
