Secret Locations In Chapter 2 Of Black Myth: Wukong

Similar to Chapter 1, Chapter 2 of Black Myth: Wukong also has a secret area waiting to be discovered. Instead of ringing three bells, you need to find the Yellow-Robed Squire who is hidden somewhere in the back of Rockrest Flat.

This drunken boar will task you with a side quest that, when completed, will unlock the Kingdom of Sahali, a hidden area in Chapter 2. The quest requires you to find a series of items to fulfill the boar’s wishes:

  1. The first item you need to find is a Sobering Stone. You can obtain a Sobering Stone from the Windrest Hamlet or from the Man-in-Stone after completing his side quest.
  2. Once the Drunken Boar is sober, find him again at the Crouching Tiger Temple. He'll then ask you to bring him a Jade Lotus. You can find the Jade Lotus in most ponds.
  3. Lastly, the Boar will ask you to bring him the Arhat Gold Piece. This rare item is obtained by defeating the First Prince of Flowing Sands.

With the gold piece in hand, return to Rockrest Flat and interact with the Drunken Boar one final time. He’ll challenge you to a duel and trigger a boss fight. Defeating the Drunken Boar will unlock the secret Kingdom of Sahali, or as the Boar calls it, the “Realm of Gold”.

Missable Spirits and Items In Chapter 2 Of Black Myth: Wukong

Azure Dust Transformation Spell

If you complete the Man-in-Stone side quest in Chapter 2, you can get your hands on the Azure Dust Transformation Spell. The Man-in-Stone can be found in the Fright Cliff area close to the Squall Hideout Shrine. He will provide you with a quest that involves defeating the Mother of Stones mini-boss.

Once you've defeated the Mother of Stones, return to the Man-in-Stone. He’ll mock you for being so gullible, and you can then confront him in battle. Upon defeating the Man-in-Stone, you'll receive the Azure Dust Transformation Spell. This spell doesn't offer as much control over your character's movements as some other Transformations, but still gives you access to some powerful attacks.

Second Rat Prince’s Spirit

While it’s not really missable, your choice during the encounter with the King of Flowing Sands and the Second Rat Prince determines whether or not you can obtain this spirit. To get the Second Rat Prince’s Spirit, you need to defeat the King of Flowing Sands first.

If you choose to challenge the King himself, be prepared for a more difficult fight. The Second Rat Prince will become enraged at his father's death and gain a significant damage boost, resulting in more powerful attacks. Even though taking on the enraged Second Rat Prince is riskier, defeating him in this state allows you to absorb his Spirit, which you can’t get otherwise.

Pungent Flesh Chunk

If you prioritize defeating the King of Flowing Sands before the Second Rat Prince, you'll also get the Pungent Flesh Chunk. The Pungent Flesh Chunk is a Legendary item that can be used to summon the First Prince of Flowing Sands from a nearby cave. This will trigger an optional, hidden boss fight that you would otherwise miss if you had defeated the Second Rat Prince first.

The Loong Scales

During the fight with the First Prince, he may punch the walls and open up a small gap, where you can squeeze in to find another key item, the Loong Scales. Since they’re so cleverly hidden, it’s possible to miss the Loong Scales entirely.

If you’re unable to lure the First Prince of Flowing Sands to attack the wall, you can use the Azure Dust transformation spell or the Wandering Wight to break through it.

Once the wall is cracked, squeeze through the opening. You'll find a treasure chest containing the Loong Scales. When you have the Loong Scales, a mysterious voice will communicate with you. This voice will guide you to the locations of hidden Loong bosses scattered throughout the game.

Make sure to go back to the waterfall near the Outside of the Forest Shrine in Chapter 1 to find the Red Loong secret boss .

The Buddha’s Eyeballs

One of Chapter 2’s most valuable collectibles are the six Buddha’s Eyeballs. These mystical artifacts are scattered throughout the Fright Cliff area. In Fright Cliff - Squall Hideout, you'll find six Buddha Heads, each containing a glowing yellow eyeball.

Once you collect all six Buddha’s Eyeballs, take them to the arena where you previously battled The Stone Vanguard, close to the Rockrest Flat Shrine. Here, you can drop the eyeballs onto a large rock and trigger the secret boss Shigandang.

Secret Bosses In Chapter 2 Of Black Myth: Wukong

There are quite a few secret bosses in Chapter 2 Of Black Myth: Wukong, two of which are only accessible if you have unlocked the secret area: the Kingdom of Sahali.

Shigandang

Shigandang Black Myth Wukong

When you find the six Buddha’s Eyeballs and place them on the designated rock in Rockrest Flat, you can face the secret boss Shigandang. Even though Shigandang appears in the same arena as the Stone Vanguard, he’s much harder to take down. Upon defeat, Shigandang drops two important items, the Heart of Stoneand the Skandha of Feeling, along with tons of XP and Will.

If you have all six Buddha's Eyeballs before confronting the Stone Vanguard, you can use them to summon Shigandang first. Shigandang will immediately fight the Stone Vanguard and you can receive all the rewards without having to fight this rock Guai yourself.

The Black Loong

With the Loong Scales in hand, you can find another secret but optional Yaoguai King boss called the Black Loong. To find the Black Loong, head to the Rockrest Flat Shrine. From the right of the shrine, you'll notice a stairway leading up to a towering sandfall. It is not possible to pass through this sandfall without the Loong Scales.

The Loong Scales will allow you to interact with the sand, clearing it away to reveal a hidden door. This door leads to the Black Loong's lair, where you can challenge the powerful creature. You can get plenty of rewards for defeating this secret boss, including a Loong Pearl, Thunderbone, and the Tridacna Pendant.

The Mad Tiger

Black Myth Wukong - Mad Tiger

After you defeat the Tiger’s Acolyte in Windrest Hamlet, you’ll be rewarded with the Old-Rattle Drum which triggers a new side quest. You will need to use the Old-Rattle Drum at three different locations in the Yellow Wind Ridge to summon a spirit. Once you find all three, a well will appear near Sandgate Village. Go down to the bottom of the well to find the Mad Tiger.

The Mad Tiger, the ostracized brother of the Tiger Vanguard, is a significantly more challenging boss than the other tigers in Chapter 2. Even without a sword, he can deal massive damage and outmaneuver players easily. After defeating the Mad Tiger, you can absorb his Spirit and find the Plaguebane Gourdin a nearby chest.

Tiger Vanguard

In the secret Kingdom of Sahali, you can come across another Tiger Vanguard. Although the Tiger Vanguard you encounter here is related to the one you fought at the Crouching Tiger Temple, their fighting styles differ slightly, despite both using swords.

This miniboss is less powerful than both the Vanguard of the Crouching Tiger Temple and the Mad Tiger, which makes him a relatively easier opponent to defeat. You’ll get the Tiger Tally curio for defeating this Tiger Vanguard.

Fuban

The second secret boss in the Kingdom of Sahali is the giant Scarab Yaoguai called Fuban. Even though it’s an optional boss, you’ll want to take this beetle down to get the Wind Tamer Vessel and Sky-Piercing Horn.

Despite its huge size, Fuban is a rather easy boss to defeat, as long as you know when and where to attack.
