Black Myth: Wukong Player Hits Max Level and Gets 100% in the Game

A hardcore Black Myth: Wukong player has recently reached the maximum level in the game, completing essentially 100% of its content. Black Myth: Wukong is a challenging game, so this is an astounding feat.

Since its release in August, Black Myth: Wukong has been a huge global hit. Developed by the Chinese studio Game Science, the title sold over 20 million units in a few weeks. Due to the impressive trailers revealed before the game’s release, Black Myth: Wukong was already one of the most highly anticipated titles of 2024. However, Game Science never developed AAA games before starting the development of this title, so it’s somewhat surprising that the Journey to the West-inspired game became so popular outside of China, where around 70% of its units were sold.

Now, a dedicated Black Myth: Wukong player called Pyr0pigGy1 shared a few screenshots of their endgame character in the popular action game, which they took up to the maximum level, 342. In the pictures, it’s possible to see the character equipped with the Bull King set, and with maxed out Defense value. According to Pyr0pigGy1, it took them three playthroughs and around 90 hours to reach the maximum level. Initially, they were not expecting much when they started to play the game, but they eventually fell in love with its gameplay and story, which motivated them to beat all the bosses in Black Myth: Wukong and complete all optional challenges.

While Pyr0pigGy1 claims to have completed all the content in the game, they only obtained 79 out of the 81 Steam achievements for Black Myth: Wukong. While playing the game, Pyr0pigGy1 failed to discover a missable curio, which can be acquired by killing all the lantern heads in the Pagoda Realm before defeating the boss. This prevented them from obtaining “A Curious Collection,” which in time blocked them from gaining the “Final Fulfillment” achievement, only unlocked when claiming all other achievements.

Fortunately for players who loved Black Myth: Wukong, new rumors indicate that Game Science is already working on two DLCs for the game. According to a recent rumor, the new DLC for Black Myth: Wukong will be released near the Chinese New Year. This festivity takes place on January 29, 2025, and it seems like a possible window for the DLC’s release. Unfortunately, details about the contents and story of a possible DLC have not been unveiled yet, so gamers should take the whole rumor with a grain of salt.
