Soaks are a crucial part of Black Myth: Wukong, allowing players to add secondary effects to their healing drink of choice. These range from simple stat buffs, to removal of the four banes, to short-lived buffs for specific spells. Picking the right soaks can make exploring and dealing with bosses much easier, so collecting as many as possible is worthwhile.
Chapter 3 of Black Myth: Wukong takes place in the frozen mountains and woodlands collectively known as the "New West" and offers players the opportunity to add six new soaks to their collection. Here's how to track them all down.
All Soaks in Chapter 2: Yellow Wind Ridge in Black Myth: Wukong
During Chapter 2 of Black Myth: Wukong you can acquire several new soaks to enhance your healing drinks, so here's how to track them down.
Thunderbolt Horn
Once you enter Chapter 3, Shen Monkey will gain some new stock. Head back to visit him in Chapter 1's Bamboo Grove (He's at the end of the Bamboo Grove area, just before the boss area where you fought the Whiteclad Noble) and he'll now be selling the Thunderbolt Horn Soak.
The Thunderbolt Horn will grant you Thunder Resistance for a short while after taking a sip, making it invaluable against some of the bosses you'll encounter in Chapter 3. When facing bosses that use a lot of lightning attacks, it's worth equipping this soak to give yourself an edge.
Stranded Loong's Whisker
The Stranded Loong's Whisker can be found once you reach Mirrormere Shrine and defeat Kang-Jin Loong. Once you've beaten Kang-Jin Loong and found a Keeper Shrine in the next area, you should fast-travel back to the Mirrormere Shrine and head out onto the lake again. Follow the edge of the lake to the right until you find a small island with a tree on it. The soak is on the island in a golden box.
This Soak extends the duration of the next Immobilize spell you cast after taking a sip, meaning its utility depends entirely on whether you regularly use the Immobilize spell. Luckily, as one of the best spells for dealing with certain enemies and bosses, and the first spell the game gives you, you've probably been getting plenty of use out of it by this point and will find this Soak useful.
Breath of Fire
The Breath of Fire soak can be found on Turtle Island after defeating Cyan Loong. This will require you to grab the Loong Scales from a secret room in Chapter 2, which will cause Cyan Loong to fight you when you approach. After defeating Cyan Loong, a chest will appear containing the soak.
The Breath of Fire Soak increases damage dealt by the next unveiling strike you perform. Unveiling Strikes can only be performed after using Cloud Step, so the utility of this soak is wholly dependent on whether you're using Cloud Step.
Turtle Tear
The Turtle Tear is an interesting Soak, providing players with a way to restore their Mana if their health is full when they take a sip. While fairly minor on its own, it pairs well with the Jade Essence drink to help you top up your mana, and every little bit helps when you rely heavily on spells in combat.
The Turtle Tear can be obtained once you reach the North Shore of Bitter Lake Shrine. Walk along the shore with the sea on your right until you reach the skeleton of a huge serpent, guarded by the Apramana Bat boss. Take down the boss and interact with the head of the skeleton to trigger a cutscene. After watching the turtle shed a tear during the cutscene, head back towards its head and look around beneath it for the shining tear.
Sweet Ice
The Sweet Ice Soak is a great utility option whenever you face enemies that use ice attacks. After taking a sip, it increases the Destined One's Chill Resistance for a short while. You can find it in New Thunderclap Temple.
To reach it, start from the temple entrance shrine and take the path on the right. Head through the gap between the red walls and follow the ramp up. Turn right at the top of the lamp and you'll see a turtle statue on your left, with a red temple building just past it. Cut through the temple building (You'll find the "Monk-From-The-Sea" boss here), head to the right, and down some stairs. At the bottom of the stairs, make an immediate left to find some stairs leading down, then head past the building on the left to find a pagoda. The Sweet Ice Soak can be found in a golden box inside the pagoda.
