EA has shared its latest financial results for the financial quarter to September 2022 and it looks like it’s planning something big in the Spring. The report shows that EA is currently working on a “Major IP” which is scheduled to launch in Q4 of the 2023 fiscal year. However, the details of the new game are being kept tightly under wraps for the moment, it seems.

This hasn’t stopped people from speculating though. The game will probably need to be a major title to contend with the other big releases happening in the same window. The company’s quarter four is the springtime of 2023, so the games listed will be launching between the beginning of January and the end of March next year. Slated to release within the same window as this new “Major IP” are the Dead Space remake, EA Sports PGA Tour, the next Super Mega Baseball title and Wild Hearts. With the Dead Space remake listed first, which we know is launching at the end of January, and the new, unannounced IP placed last in the list, it’s not too much of a reach to consider that this new game could be released around March time.

That idea would hold fast against speculation from industry journalist Jeff Grubb, who recently suggested that the game is, in fact, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and it is on course for a March 2023 release window. The game, which fans across the internet are also speculating is EA’s new “Major IP,” was first announced back in May of this year, but since then things have been pretty quiet on the update front. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be a sequel to the popular Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, with EA sharing a teaser trailer during May’s Star Wars Celebration. Check it out here, in case you missed it.

Whether or not this mysterious “Major IP” is actually Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, we’ll have to wait and see. Other notable details shared in EA’s financial report today include impressive launch figures for EA Sports FIFA 23, which has been the most successful launch in the franchise’s history. According to the report, more than 10.3 million players joined the game within the first week. EA is certainly turning healthy sales figures over at the moment, with the three months to the end of September this year netting them an impressive $1.9 billion. The company is also predicting net revenues of around $7.55 billion to $7.75 billion by the end of March 2023, so they’re clearly expecting a big boost in income from the games they’re planning to release before the end of this financial year. Also on the cards before the end of March are Need For Speed Unbound and NHL 23.

We’ll be keeping an ear to the ground for any further news on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, but either way, it’s clear that EA has a lot of big projects in the pipeline for the next few months.
